  • Who has their tongue pierced?

You ever bite into that damn barbell so hard it made you cry??
I just did when I was eating my lunch and now my whole face is hurting. I think I chipped a tooth (again). OMG, I have a headache. Can I go home now?

Yeah the chipping of the tooth thing really sucks. You need to be more careful. Because you can really hurt yourself. I never did it to mine and I try to make sure that I am not chewing my food so hard that it happens and I don't know.

You may want to try getting a acrylic bar which is a little bit more gentle on the teeth. But just don't shatter it in your mouth.

Yeah, it's annoying as heck! I hear that there are some rubber like flexible barbells that are supposed to be waaaaay easier on the teeth...if I can find a link, I'll post it.

    ETA: Would this work?

OK, all my teeth are still in tact. But I don't think I'm gonna eat anything else until Saturday.
Had this thing for like 4 years now. Swallowed the ball once. Damn near choked on it. One chipped tooth. And a permanent dent in the roof of my mouth. Lawd, tell me again why I got this thing...

    Oh, nevermind, I remember.

I have my tongue pierced. I only use the PFT (flexible barbell) or acrylic barbells. I haven't bitten the ball or bar since I got it pierced over a year ago. My dentist recommened it to me right after I got my tongue pierced.

I had mine pierced for about six years. I just took it out in march. I have only bitten it about three times. I hurted at the beginning but after awhile I didn't feel it anymore. I miss it so much. I usd it play with it with my tongue when I was thinking. Now I have to squeeze those little toys to help me sort out my thoughts.

I used to have one and I think it definitely made my teeth more brittle, especially the back teeth. I liked it at the time, but I am happy I got rid of it.

I thought about doing it again, but I would only do it if they had plastic barbells. Anyone know?

I still have my tongue ring. It's going on the second year. I've only bitten down on it maybe once or twice and that was in the first few months. When it healed, I took off the metal balls and replaced them with the acrylic ones which seem to be a lot better, and more colorful too

I have one, its almost 5 yrs old. But i wear acrylic barbells, so if i do bite down on it, it would probably break the acrylic faster than it would chip my tooth

I used to have my tounge pierced, I had it for about 2 years. I never had any problems with it, never bit it, never had my teeth chipped because of it. I just got tired of it, but when I had it, I loved it

i was seriously contemplating taking mine out because one week, i kept biting the crap out of it!! it hurt like hell! but now that i have my acrylic barbells, i havent done it again. i noticed that the acrylic balls are bigger than the original one, so i am more aware of it. it doesnt bother me, i just realize that its there.

I've had mine for 5 years and it's sad to say, I love it. It was the first thing I did when I turned 18, so I'm kinda attached to it. My mouth feels weird without it...

I just got mine pierced on Saturday. It's not as painful as I thought it was going to be. I feel like I lost some inches though because I cant pig out like I sometimes do. I just hope my speech returns to normal when it heals.. how long is that going to take? anyone knows?

I've bitten down on it, but not hard enough to chip a tooth or anything since the balls are acrylic. Going on 2 years now, and the most damage its done is made that dent in the roof of my mouth. I love this thing...I feel naked when I take it off.

DH daughter's mother took her barbell out because she chipped 4 of her teeth. I told her she talks to much that is why she chipped all those teeth. She said I might have something there. So now she has her eyebrows pierced and her nose.

I just got mine pierced on Saturday.* It's not as...

Keep eating ice....or sucking on it....! It will help with the swelling....! Plus, eating ice feels soo good on a new piercing.... :P

Everyone heals differently, but as long as you keep your mouth clean, it should heal fast and normal! You should feel pretty normal around the end of the 2nd week....! Try to avoid playing around with it!

You ever bite into that damn barbell so hard it...

    I almost cried....and i think it was because i was scared that i broke my tooth...but I didn't....

Ever since that one time....I've been very very cautions.....

Chewing gum is sometimes hard...especially when i'm hungry...and the gum is the only thing i have at the time....I start going at it like crazy....
then i might hit the ball...but...i try to be very careful
