  • Waking Up In Pain

Every so often I wake up in the morning with pains that I could best describe as feeling like I worked out the night before. I feel aches in my back, neck or chest sometimes all three. The whole entire day I would feel that same pain until it wears off. I still feel the aches from thurday nights sleep.
I told my mom about it and she suspected that it could be from me being so tense while sleeping. That sounds possible because I'm a pretty tense person in general and since my husband works at night I sometimes force myself to go to sleep because I need to although its hard because I get lonely sometimes.
Another thing I think could be the culprit is my pillows and matress but I'm not to sure about that because if that was the case I think it would happen more often.

Does this happen to any of you? If so how did you fix the problem? What do you think it could be from because it is soooo annoying?

    Thanks

it may be soreness from your mattress or your sleeping positions. from personal experience, very soft beds make me feel stiff and sore after every night so i avoid those. try changing the firmness of you bed (make it softer or firmer) and see what happens. tension can also play a role too esp if it's associated with poor sleep. try some things to help you relax such as soothing music, showering or caffeine free tea.

    hope that helps any!

I agree with ^^^ that advice. A few years ago my mattress was rinky dinky, and soft, and i never slept well. My back was always hurting, and I couldn't figure out why. I bought a new, firm one, and felt like i was sleeping on a cloud! Its wonderful. Definitely invest in a great FIRM mattress. I think most people think firm=hard, but that's not the case. It just supports your body better. Also, it could be that you're tense at night like you said. I had that problem as well. I would wake up and be very sniff and sore... turns out i was going to bed stiff, and sleeping in awkward positions. Try to relax yourself before falling asleep. Chamomile tea helped me greatly.

    Thanks ladies for the advice!!!
I think it could be from both of the factors. I'll put into consideration some of your tips. I need a major sleep habit makeover because my sleep habits now in general are not working

i feel like that sometimes, especially when my daugther sleeps with. she takes up the whole bed and i have to sleep on the edge lol. So I end up in a weird position and wake with my whole body sore. Try sitting in a hot but comfortable bubble bath and it should help take the soreness away

This happens to me sometimes but I know mine is psychosomatic. So I find out what the stressor is, then I take Aleve until the stressor is gone. I got a massage but the person told me that none of my muscle were stiff, I was so surprised.

    Thanks for the replies
I just bought some chamomile tea to help me I dont know if it is psychological but I feel relaxed already. I think my issue is more of my bad sleeping habits and tension rather that my matress and pillows but I'll still keep an eye out for it giving me any problems to be sure
