Okay, just qualifying that 1 - I LOVE MY HAIR.

There are things that bug me. Like this is a "do nothing" weekend for me. So I've literally done nothing and that includes with my hair. I was running my fingers through my hair today and found the nastiest tangle of hair. That's all because it coiled around itself. (All my fault and it's happened before, so I take responsibility for it, but bummer.)

Also, when I wear my hair in a stretched fro style and it's windy. OMG. That look does not work well for me. (However, windy days don't work well for most people.)

I love my hair and have made peace with it. We are good.

That said... I wish I could figure out an elegant way to protect my tresses during the Summer months. My hair bakes out there but I just don't like the way I'm tying scarves and bandannas around it and hats aren't working out for me either. I'd like to look elegant but sporty, given that I spend hours riding my bike around and sitting around at the playground with my children.

It's an image question but me and my hair itself? We're good.

I love my hair :-) The only thing I wish I could change is my curls loooooooooooooooooove curling with other hair. Therefore, I have to be diligent on ensuring my ends are moisturized so they won't curl up and have a party with other curls lol

You know what is so funny? I clicked on the link to this thread and really wanted to contribute, but when I thought about it, I can't think of one thing that I really don't like about my hair. This is probably because I HATED my hair when it was relaxed. I wouldn't do anything to it. Now that I'm natural, I've had a pride in my hair that I can't remember having since when I was natural as a child. My BC was a year ago this month, but I still feel giddy when I think about being natural. I'm still in the honeymoon stage with my hair, for sure. Hopefully it never ends!

I wish my hair was one texture. I have 4a in the front and crown, and 4b everywhere else. I cannot wear a stand-alone afro because my hair is long and the 4a hair won't stand up by itself. I have to "cheat" with mini jawclips to keep my hair from flopping in my face.

Hmmm, there's nothing I dislike about my natural hair, but what I dislike about my hair in general are these really fine areas.

I guess I just wish my hair was thicker all around.

I have a similar problem. I have a mohawk type strip of hair down the middle of my head about 5 inches wide of loose kinky/wavy hair while the hair on the sides are tightly coiled. When I shingle my hair I have to cheat down the mohawk strip and coil the hair around my finger to give it more definition so it will blend in. And when I wear my fro I have to pat it down so its not noticeable taller than the sides. I adore my hair but I could do with out the mohawk...and single strand knots.

I love my hair, but sincd I BC in January I have struggled to find a good product to moisturize & lesson the shedding. My hair is 4c, dry & very dense. I'm open to suggestions.

She takes a long time to dry- which means she prefers to retain moisture. The thing I dislike is something that I'm grateful for.

How often are you washing/conditioning? What products are you using now?

    • The washing, conditioning, twisting process - time consuming.
    • Knoting - hair coilier in the back
    • 75% shrinkage in the back.

Single strand knots and the one section. In the front that won't hold a twist

That the front section has like NO shrinkage and is floppy, naturally.

i dont like that i can't follow my preferred routine if i want to retain length.

if i could get away with wearing loose hair, doing daily wash n go's AND not having to worry about my hair become one big knotted mess, then i would.

I know wanting "curl definition" is a no-no around here...so understand what I'm saying. The BACK of my head (from about my ears to my neck) is made up of small, curly ringlets. However, the front of my head (from the crown to ears) is a puffy, cottony texture. I wish I had ONE texture of hair. The front of my hair is what keeps me from wearing decent wash-and goes. It won't even hold a decent finger coil.

I also HATE how fine my hair is, and how crappy it looks in ANY protective style. Twists look skimpy and scalpey, and styles like tuck-and-goes pack down into nothing.
