  • Talika Anyone?

Anyone tried Talika? It's a product that claims to grow thicker/longer eyelashes after 28 days. It may be just another gimmick, but I was feeling brave and frivilous and decided to buy it for a whopping $38. I'll see if it's any good.

Anybody heard about it or tried it before?

Is the main ingredient castor oil</a>? I was reading about how castor oil grows eyebrows and lashes.

No, I don't even see castor oil in any of the ingredients. It's a bunch of stuff I cant pronounce.

Never heard of it...but now I'm interested...it does sound like a gimmic though & I don't have $38 to invest. Let me see about a money back guarantee...

    Hey there!

I have actually tried this one:

    http://www.folica.com/MAVALA_Eye_Lite_r598_1.html

And while I got great results...it didn't last very long...I think its like protein or something like that actually giving the appearance of thicker longer lashes....with this stuff..my eyelashes seemed to get so thick ( i actually feel them swaying when the wind blew)...and a little longer..but as soon as I stopped using it..they returned to their normal length and thickness......

I wonder if either one is safe for long term use...I could get addicted to the longer, thicker eyelashes...

I first read about the Talika cream on style.com last week randomly while surfing the web. It was under their top 5 eyelash products, and it sounded interesting.

Here is what Talika.com says about their cream:
" This cream was originally formulated as an anti-bacterial cream to heal eye contour injuries. Its amazing side effect was discovered by chance by Ms Danielle Roches, a Medical Doctor during WWII.

In 1947, Ms Danielle Roches introduced this quasi " magical" cream to the cosmetic world, claiming visible growth and thickening of the eyelashes under the name TALIKA.

TALIKA became the secret of many movie stars and other glamorous women. Its formula, never divulgated, remains the only product officially recognized and allowed to claim its effect on the actual growth (or regrowth) of the eyelashes."

    .............

I, however, ended up buying the gel, which comes in a tube that looks like mascara, because that is the only one the Sephora i went to carries. It says it contains Soy Lecithin liposomes, which stimulate eyelash growth.

I think this is about my third or fourth day of use, so I of course have not seen any results yet. I'm a little skeptical about the product only because I would think if this product were so great then more celebrities would use this to get naturally long eyelashes instead of applying fake eyelashes.

But, like I said earlier, I'll see how it works

for an all natural approach try Lamas Night Radiance Lash Masque, like mascara but you can leave it on indefinately...google it. =)

i've heard of people using pure silk amino acids mixed with an oil, like emu, as mascara and their eyelashes growing longer. you buy can buy silk amino acids from lotioncrafter.com or theherbarie.com

i plan on trying this. you can get 5% off at lotioncrafter.com using the code LHC2007

I saw this at Sephora the other day. That's the good news. The bad news is that it is still $38 so I left it where I found it. Haha. Has anyone compared using this to MSM? I don't even know if taking MSM orally is supposed to help w/ lashes or not.

Egads, why did I come in here? <_< I'm a lashaholic and would love lashes like a llama . I think I'll go the natural route and try plain castor oil and see how that turns out. My lashes are pretty long, but I want them intertwining with my eyebrows.

i plan on trying this. you can get 5% off...

Thanks for the info. That looks like it would be a wonderful add-in to any conditioner.

Lol. I think I would go the castor oil route. I'm still using the Talika whenever I remember to, I do see a big difference in the way my ashes look. They are a little fuller, and they seem a little longer, though not significantly longer. I will continue to use my tube until it is out, but I will not be buying it again.
