  • Rhassoul Clay Powder

    hey

    i finally used my rhassoul clay powder i ordered from www.camdengrey.com. i melted shea butter, cocoa butter, castor oil, rice bran oil, and honey together. then i added the podwer. it wouldn't dissolve in the oils though. the mix was very gritty. then i added a spoonful of yogurt and warmed coconut milk and mixed it into a thick paste. after about ten minutes though, the liquid started separating from the mixture. i used it anyway. it seemed to melt into my hair after about 30 minutes with a shower cap on. it rinsed out very easily and my hair felt like butter! it was sooooooo soft. BUT, it was sooooooo oily! i won't have to oil my hair for at least a week!

    i just need to know how to get the powder to dissolve in the oils and keep the liquid from separating.

    thanks!!

    bumping to say that I added a spoon of Rhassoul clay to my Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose and a spoon of Molasses, and my hair was smooth, soft and shed far, far, less.

    i finally used my rhassoul clay powder i ordered from...

    here is an entirely diff recipe....originated from anitagrant.com (Anita Grants Rhassoul Conditioner, courtesy of EmpressRi) i dont think they will mind if i share this with you! i am gonna try it soon..

    ONLY suitable for naturally curly hair, locs & natural Afro hair.

    Our Rhassoul Mollyp Condishes contains Unrefined Black Cocoa Butter & natural Soya based Vitamin E (mixed tocopherols) which helps to guard scalp & hair from free radical damage. When hot liquid is added to our Rhassoul Mollyp Condishes, it swells & increases its surface area like a highly porous sponge. Attracting & trapping toxins into these open porous spaces so that when it comes time to rinse the Rhassoul Mollyp Condish from your hair the toxins are eliminated and you're left with detoxified fluffy soft tresses.

    So instead of a Hot Oil treatment why not detoxify your scalp & hair.

    Instructions below are for freshly washed hair only.

    What you will need:
    a) Heat resistant bowl
    B) Disposable shower cap
    c) Hand Blender with whisk attachment or a manual whisk or a fork
    d) Boiling hot liquid of choice (see below) - 60 ml per individual heart.
    Add more liquid for a thin consistency & less liquid for a thicker consistency.

    Liquid of choice:

    * Plain Hot Water

    OR

    * Flaxseed liquid (1 teaspoon of flaxseeds & 30 ml of hot water)

    OR

    * Pure 100% Coconut Milk (personal favourite as the scent of the Coconut Milk & Cocoa Butter combine = YUMMY!)

    Or you can use infused herbs like dried:

    * Organic Blue Malva
    * Organic Chamomile
    * Organic Lavender
    * Organic Pink Rose Buds

    Total time required = 10 minutes

    How to mix in 3 easy steps:
    1. Place Heart(s) in a heat resistant bowl
    Be very careful when adding hot liquid.
    Use the fork to break up the Heart(s) & let it sit in the hot liquid for a minute.

    2. As the mix starts to break up stir with fork until the Heart(s) dissolves into a thick melted milk chocolate consistency. Use hand blender or whisk should you require a thicker texture.

    3. Ta-Da! Your mud is now ready.
    Allow the Rhassoul mud condish to cool down sufficiently prior to application.

    Once mixed with the liquid of choice please use immediately.
    Apply to your hair and scalp, cover with a disposable shower cap or cling film or nothing - it's your choice because it will not drip.
    Leave the condish on for:
    15 - 20 mins for regular deep conditioning
    45 minutes for maximum deep conditioning.

    Rinse thoroughly with warm water, dry & style as usual.
