  • Proactiv Solution For Acne Prone Skin

Has anyone tried Proactiv with success?

    Is it worth it?

How has your skin improved/not improved since using it.

I work with a woman who's golden skin literally glows! She swears by Proactiv and I was thinking that it just might be worth it instead of going to a dermatologist, paying the co-pay, and then paying another co-pay for prescribed medications!

Still thinking on it but seriously considering it...

i think so. i love it. i took a step back to try some prescription meds thinking it would be cheaper (we hit a really rough patch), but i have to say that my skin has really taken a hit. my overall skin appearance just isn't like it was. proactiv not only got rid of the individual pimples, but smoothed my skin through daily gentle exfoliation, moisturized it, and even reduced the appearance of dark spots and scars. i'm definitely going back.

you can get pro activ on ebay, in the mall (if there's a pro activ kiosk there), on qvc, as well as from the website--the other routes might be cheaper without the shipping from guthy renker.

it may not work for everyone, but it definitely worked for me for two years. i believe it's a solid investment in your skin. and $45 bucks every one to three months really isn't terrible.

My mom started breaking out last year after having clear skin her whole life (uh oh something for me to look forward to). She tried a few products but now uses proactiv and her skin cleared up.

it works but it is a tad drying.

My mom had bought me some a long time ago b/c we both have acne prone skin. It was drying to my skin, but I didn't stick with it consistently and after watching an hour of the infomercial (LOL, hey, I'm workin' 3rd shift! ), I began to weigh the cost of driving 30 minutes to a dermatologist who is good (he cleared up my mother's skin with accutane and other prescriptions), pay the insurance co-pay, then after getting the prescription filled, paying that co-pay...and the cost of the product itself...and to me, purchasing the product seems better cost effective.

So, hopefully, I will get my proactiv Monday or Tuesday. I'm looking forward to it and I will updating my album with the results of clear, smooth and healthy skin.

    Thnx for your input!

i also wanted to add how gentle the products themselves are on the skin. they don't burn the skin like i thought an astringent was supposed to. as far as the drying is concerned, i only use/used it once a day instead of twice. after that i didn't notice any drying at all. i think i did at first and that's why i cut my usage. that also helps me to stretch it

    lookin forward to your results

My mom had bought me some a long time ago...

understood. i purchased it in 97, tried if for a month and sent it back. then in 2002 i complimented a friend on her skin and she said 'gurl das proactiv'...so i bought it again and used it until i had no job and couldn't afford it . i just started using it again (got me a j.o.b. ) and ALL my oil and breakouts are gone ^_^
