  • Oils?

I was reading a thread where everyone was giving there routines of how they take care of their hair, and it was really helpful but I have a question. When people say' All you need is oil and water" , do you mean Essential oils in a spray bottle with water?( I think it was nottyfreedom) or can you put some EO's on your scalp?

I dont like greasy stuff, so lately I have just been spraying with Almas honey spritz. But I just want to clarify what kind of "oil " is everybody talking about.

sorry if i am a little slow with this one but i want to make sure i am in the loop. thanks ladies and gents

Carrier oils - jojoba, coconut, olive, etc...you can use e.o.'s on your scalp but generally "oil and water" means carrier oils..

Yep, but I don't see as it's necessary unless your scalp gets dry. If you have an oily scalp then using carrier oils on the scalp is probably not a good idea. I'm a prime example of carrier oils being a no-no since I have an oily scalp and my hair doesn't tolerate them well.

EO's are concentrates. Usually they are diluted before use. You should read up on the particular EO you intend to use & see if it's safe to apply it directly to the skin.

I have an oily scalp as well and don't apply oils to it. My hair likes light oils though.

I have a dry scalp so, I guess I could put the EOs on my scalp.
