I'm considering making an appointment with a nutritionist to get on track with my diet. I've been consistently losing weight over the past 4 years and I honestly don't know why. I'd really like to stop this progression because it's getting annoying. I was wondering if anyone here has met with a nutrionist and if so, did they see any benefit to going? What does a meeting entail? After visiting, were you able to set and meet nutrition goals?

I met with a nutritionist yesterday for the first time to get some dietary advice about IBS. For me, it was useful to some extent as I really had to get honest about my daily diet and eating routines - time of day, regularity etc. Although generally she just told me the stuff that we all know: 5 fruit/veg a day, ensuring that my diet is well balanced.

I would say that if you are already doing all the right things nutritionally, there is no real point in having this meeting.

I didn't have to pay for mine, but if I had've done, I probably wouldn't have thought it was worth it.

At the end she left me to decide whether I would like to have a follow up meeting.

It will probably be totally different for you because your complaint is a different one to mine.

Thanks for the info cloudynaps! Any others?
