  • Most Supportive Person

When it comes to my hair, my fiance always make feel great. He loves my curls, ringlets, and coils. When I think my hair looks like a big, frizzy, mess, he thinks it looks wild and sexy.

Most of the time I am pretty confident and I love my hair, but when I have those "bad hair days", he is always there to make me feel better. He even wishes he had hair like mine (he's white with shiny, light brown waves). He's genuinely jealous !

Sometimes he thinks I am nuts for putting food in my hair (honey, avocado, olive oil, etc...), but the other day I caught him using my honey spritz.

He's wonderful in so many ways , but I wanted to share this because it seems there are alot of posts about how people can be so unsupportive. So if any one has a special person in their life that makes them feel really good, especially on those blah days, please share!

My boyfriend is the most supportive as far as hair goes. He is constantly playing with it and loves the shrinkage.
When my hair is frizzing and I feel yucky he always has something nice to say about it. I love it.

My boyfriend is the most supportive. After my BC, he took me out to eat to show me off, saying I looked like one of those "soulful, spoken word poets" with my scarf and huge earrings. And he never said my hair was too short, even though I know he likes long hair and I got my hair cut from brastrap length to around my ears. He's always playing in it, and if I want to get something for my hair he'll pony up the cash. In fact, he spent $100 on hair products for me after my big chop, just so I'd feel better about my hair.

Ok me and my husband where having a discussion about my decision to go natural! He still like the perm look! Anyway, my youngest daughter,(15 y.o.) who is transitiong, comes outside! She goes"Daddy, why should she put that Draino stuff in her hair? Instead of just going natural? Cause that means she's repping herself for who she really is! She dont have to be like these other girls out here who put that mess in they hair, trying to be all cute for other people! My DH aint no what to say! Basically, he aint no what the heck he was talking about! My daughter told him what was what! He had no chance between the two of us! She just shocked me with her knowledge and straitght up truth! Mind you, I have been going around saying things like creamy crack and Draino and what not, but my baby girl was Listening!! So, he is slowwwlyy learning to watch his dag gone mouth when it come to the au naturel!

I don't have anyone close to me who is supportive. I get most of my nappy hair encouragement from coworkers and strangers. But it's okay...I'm pretty confident in my decision.

The most supportive person is my boyfriend He told me that he didn't like relaxed hair and the texture to him always felt fake. He's really interested in the life of Malcolm X and he read me something out of his book about getting a conk was trying to be white and he'd never do that again (I might be messing it up y'all but that was the gist of it). He preferred that I transition but I cut all of my hair off on May 12th. His initial reaction was negative. He liked that I was natural but hated the fact that it was so short. I was upset (I had gotten several negative reactions by the time he saw me) and told him that I wanted to him to see me as beautiful. He paused for a second and then said, "You still are beautiful." I needed that so much. This past Sunday I was so frusturated with my hair I said I was gonna relax again. His face went from to  He just told me to be patient and things would work out. Sorry for this being so long.

i'd have to say my husband is my biggest supporter. he did my first bc for me. and when i was getting another rel.axer put in three yrs down the road, he was the one who urged me not to do it until he finally gave up and said, well... just don't make me have to say 'i told u so' (which he later did). he always made me feel beautiful no matter what my hair looked like. he married me with a perm and stood by me through my journey. i don't know how i would have been able to deal some days if it wasn't for him.

mY FIANCE is my greatest supporter- He's four years loced. My sister hates my hair-- I am 34 and shes's in her late 20's... we as a matter of fact are not speaking at this time, per her choice because of my hair... ( and other Dr. Phil issues that she's got in regards to me... )she attempted to embarrass me in church 3 weeks ago... and hasn't said 2 words to me since!

My SO who was the driving force behind my BC. we were on the phone and I was explaining that I was going to transition via sew in's and he said "That's stupid, if the point is to grow your hair, cut it and I'll shape it up for you when you reach back by me" Yea, I love my baby. now he wants locs cause his sis is natural, i'm natural and he feels left out :P

My Boyfriend is the most supportive when it comes to anything with my hair. He did the BC for me in July. When I complain that my hair is too short and it just doesn't look right today. He's the one that tells me I love your hair and there is nothing wrong with it. I can say well it's too wild and it just doesn't look right. And my favorite quote from him is "I like it wild." Even when we are laying down watching movies or something he's running his fingers through my hair. It's funny because I love his hair and he doesn't like his own hair. It's loosely curled and really really shiny. He does nothing to it and it's gorgeous. But when it comes to my hair he always tells me that mine is curly, kinky, gorgeous, beautiful hair.

My biggest supporters are my bf and my best friend. They really seem to enjoy my hair, and they compliment it even when i think it's looking a bit rough.

My husband is my biggest supporter. He encouraged me from the start. He always compliments my hair and the only question he asks is why didn't I go natural sooner. He like my natural hair better.

My husband. His family, including himself has straight hair, so when I got my last perm and saw how horrible my hair had become, I was scared to go to him and tell him about me wanting to go natural. When I told him, however, he has been nothing but supportive. He tells me all the time that he dosen't care if my hair is short, long, permed, or natural..as long as I am happy, he will be. :P

My biggest supporter would have to be my momma , she is the reason why I went natural in the first place. She never wanted to give me a perm, but when we moved she oversaw my whole transitioning process, I was 14 at the time. She did my braids, and every time I took them down she would cut more of the permed ends of until I was comp letely natural.

I'm trying to get her to join this site (she has sisterlocks), but that's another story... ^_^

My hubby. He encouraged me to BC when I did and made the appointment for me. He's bought me hair products. He uses the word "sexy" to refer to me a lot more now than when I had a perm or braids. The only thing he doesn't do much is play in my hair. It's funny, I had been wanting him to for so long and the one day he finally did, I had just finished picking it for us to go out so I fussed at him for messing it up! So that's probably not gonna happen again anytime soon. Ah, well.

ETA: Oh yeah, he has locs, too! He's so proud of them.
