  • More Encouragement For Transitioners

Hi ladies who are transitioning! As a fairly new natural (Natural for one year this month!!!), I just wanted to send out some encouragement to all of you.

The transition period can be hard, but keep it up. I would suggest if you haven't already, read some books on the history of Black hair in America. I think our biggest battle is in our mind---we are beautiful and so is our natural God-given hair.

Can't wait to see y'alls pics on the other side of the chop!

Thanks for the encouragement, hopefully I can get pictures up soon. Everything is going well so far I have been transitioning for 2 1/2 mths. I love my new growth I'm thinking I'm a nappy and nappy mixed. I will probably do the big chop next fall can't wait, it may be earlier though.

Thank you for the encouragement. I have been transitioning for 7 months now and I am contemplating the big chop, I am so tired of these straight ends!!!

Thanks for the encouragement! I have been transitioning for about 7 1/2 months, and I am seriously considering doing the BC Jan 1. These 2 different types of textures are driving me bananas! Hopefully, I will be free soon!

Keep your head up ladies. I am so glad to see that you are all doing so great. I am much newer than LynnLynn and I still feel like I am transitioning. I transitioned for 8 months and have been natural for 3 months. Believe me when I say that it is so worth it. You will love your hair and you'll be glad you made the right choice. Smile!

Thanks for the encouragement!! I have been transitioning for 3 months now and I am condsidering the bc in December instead of waiting a year. I'm so sick of the two textures and the breakage. So we'll see how long I wait.

Hey everyone, I have been browsing the site for a few weeks, and I am so glad to see the positive words and advice being exchanged. I wish this was true of my friends as well ( you look so good with relaxed hair, why would you do THAT!!). I have been transitioning for about 2 months now with two strand twist extensions. Does anyone have any advice for me on the care of my hair and info about dandruff/extra dry scalp treatments? Until next time, much love and keep the good vibes flowing.

Hi ladies who are transitioning! As a fairly new...

    hey everyone,

I have an album that shows that hair can still look good while transitioning.

I'll be completely natural by next weekend!

Im almost into my 4th month of transitioning, and I really need some encouragment. I dont know whats worse dieting or going natural? Im constantly either planning my next low carb meal or trying to style my hair. I have about 2 inches of new growth, and the two textures are maddening. Im still not ready for the BC though, im trying to get through the winter first. I tried no-poo last night and really liked the results, my hair wasnt as dry. Has anyone made Molly's Lavender Shampoo, I think my color was way off. It came out moss green! Sorry for the rambling. fftopic

I'm proud of all you ladies that are taking this journey. Enjoy learning about your hair. ENJOY BEING YOU! No perm and just being free! Confidence and patience is the key. Ignore everyone else who try to break your spirit of going natural. People will do this because YOU are going against society superficial ways and some are uncomfortable by your decision.

If you need more check the albums. When it comes to hair, health and length comes with care and patience
