Dr. MiracleThe man behind the "yuck" ads. 1083015...

    A quote from his website:
"Just as I was able to develop a product line that connected with consumers through African heritage and pride, I believe that our new line of products is creating a new category in the ethnic hair care industry."

    Irony anyone?

As I sit over here scratching my head ............. Well, he could be one of those brothas that could pass for white. You never know. I got some in the family tree. Of course they never associated with us. Course he could just be a plain old white guy into black hair.

There is nothing wrong with white dudes making money off of us. If WE were in business, I wouldn't have problems making money off of white people. Hell, white women are so easy to be ripped off. If they ain't blonde they think that they are ugly. I should start me a bleaching hair line. My ad says, "Guess why they say that blondes have all the fun. Becuase the other hair colors never get laid as much."

    ointlaugh:

Oh, yeah. I would be a multi-billionaire and would turn more than half of the planet blonde.

That's the same white guy that sued the black owners of African Royale back in the 90's over the use of the word "African." He lost.

Now, he resurfaces 10 yrs later as Dr. Miracle. What a joke.

When have the white man not make money on black hair products? Seriously, the old so called black owned businesses weren't really black owned. I thought every one new.

For instance Flori Roberts was assumed for decades to be a black woman owned skincare and make up line before Fashion Fair. Flori Roberts was a Jewish woman creating a market for black-centric beauty.

This is not a big deal to me. As long as the product is good. I ain't caring. Seriously, most of these "for black folks" skincare and haircare line has white backing, CEOs, Presidents or board directories.

I used this dudes crappy products in the past. I don't feel violated. I just wished that I got my money back. The beauty business is like anything else. They sell an image and a concept along wth the product. Never expect that the owner to actually believe image of their product because many do not. It is just a marketing tool.

its funny, but as i was waiting for the post to open - i said to myself "hmm, he's probably white"...

i agree that it is strange. it would be kinda like finding out that Bob Johnson (former BET CEO) was white...but thanks to your basic board of directors, presidents, and marketing - there are several ways for a white man to run a business who's target audience is black.

he's just saying, "hey - i have a million dollars, why don't i start a company geared towars black hair. seems like they hate the way the hair grows out their hair - so i will capitalize on that...hey, now i need someone black to tell me what the black women want their hair to look like!" and unfortunately, LOTS of black women hate their hairs - or feel like they need to pile this, this, or that product in it to get it to look "acceptable" - so i think this fellow may be around for a while. what's even worse is that some women do feel about their hair the way his ads say they do - YUCK!

but when you really think about it, those ads and products are no different to me that the "white" ads that tell the white women that they need this or that to make their hair "thick", "full", or sometimes even "straight".

but i don't use the products because of the ingredients and that is the only reason.
