  • Master Cleanse Lemon Aid Diet

     

    My husband is out of town for a week, and even though I will be preparing meals for my 4 year old son, I thought this was the best time for me to do it. I don;t have to cook heavy meals with big aromas that will be really temtping.

    Plus I will get to spead a lot of time alone once he goes to bed to meditate and focus on my intentions.

    I am doing the cleanse at the same time that I am starting to really apply the Law of Attraction principles (from The Secret) in my life...and I have several things thatI want to accomplish.

    I have tried the cleanse before and have not made it past 3 days. My goal it to at least do 5. I would live to do the whole 10 but I do have some serious challenges over the weekend. I am going to a BBQ on Sat

    But discipline is one of the intentions I am focusing on so well....here it goes.

    I made enough of the tea for 2 days.....the stuff aint cheap. I am doing the cayenne pills cause I jsut hate the powers. I think it maybe jsut as effective, but I am just not sure how many mgs I should be taking daily.

    Anyone else interested?

    hey Genifa! Yeah, I actually just started last night with the tea, and did my SW flush and drank about three cups of lemonade so far. I'm really really really trying to step up to the plate and complete a full 10 day fast, as another friend of mine is doing it for the second time, and she is really bout' it. But unfortunately, I have a BBQ party to go on Sat. and I don't know how I'm gonna resist all that food and drink(good Guyanese food too!) I might have to take a plate home and freeze it (i'm so serious)

    But its crazy, after the SW flush and the initial BM, I was literally just expelling water for like an hour, I felt like there should have been more solids? (sorry tmi) So now I'm wondering what will happen on day 5 or so, when I will really have no food in my system..I'm gonna check the earlier thread on the Master Cleanse and see what others have done. Ok, well good luck, and I hope you can do it as long a possible..keep me posted!!

    Hey beauxcheveux

    Today is day two for me. I am ok, a little hungry but not too bad. I think the tea is helping me with the hunger. I made a big jug of the tea and brought it to work with me. I actually had a lot of energy when I woke up this morning. But I am tired now.
    The first evening I did the senna tea and had pretty solid BMs throughout the night but I also did the SWF last night and my oh my....an hour and a half later I was going and it was nowhere near solid. but my goodness its not easy to get that stuff down eyeeach!

    I also have a BBQ on sat...its not Guyanese but it will be pretty tempting.....I am hoping that I get a lot of disipline thoughout the week and will about to harness that energy on Sat.

    For all you newcomers I thought I'd share a few things:

    -Please follow the MC to the letter, as Mr. Burroughs intended. There is no need to add or take away anything from the program, doing so can compromise the success of your cleanse and even your health.

    -If you are on ANY medication, talk to your doctor BEFORE starting the MC, as the cleanse can render many medications (like birth control pills!) ineffective, or otherwise interfere with the drugs you are taking. Especially speak with your regular doctor if you plan to stop taking any meds while on the cleanse!

    -Probiotics after any cleanse are imperative. You can search the forum for more details but suffice to say that without them you can get very sick by allowing bad bacteria to take control of your digestive tract once the cleanse ends. Have these on hand BEFORE you begin the cleanse, so that if you fall short of your goal you have them ready and waiting.

    -Remember that the Tea is designed to loosen and the Salt Water flushes. Either part taken without the other is only half as effective. Even though the book says you can sub the tea if you must for the SW, he does not mean every day - it's more of an emergency alternative for when you simply cannot do the SWF for some reason.

    -Organic lemons are key, as non-organic lemons are loaded with chemicals you are trying to rid your body of. No point in cleansing if you are going to use chemical-laden fruit. YES, the chemicals and toxins DO get into the fruit. Lemon skin is porous, things seep in, and the ground non-organic fruit is grown in is also rich in toxins which seep up into the plant with its water intake.

    -You should make your lemonade as close to the time you intend to drink it as possible. That said, it is acceptable to squeeze your lemon juice in the morning for the day's tonic. You could then bring the juice, water, maple, and cayenne with you in separate containers, mixing as needed during the day. I like to squeeze a day's worth of lemons in the morning, then prepare two 3-glass batches to bring to work/school as breakfast and lunch, waiting until the time I am drinking to add the cayenne so it doesn't sit and get too spicy. When I get home I make one or two more glasses of tonic for dinner to use up the rest of the lemon juice. This way its all as fresh as possible - within reason of our busy schedules!

    -Remember 10 days is the suggested minimum. I always liken it to the first 20 minutes of any workout at the gym - relatively useless on it's own, it's a warm-up period for your body and it's what happens after that warm-up that is really where the benefits and action happen. Ten days is the time it takes to flush the digestive tract out and for your body to fully switch over to using it's fat resources for energy, thereby releasing toxins stored within. The longer past 10 days you go, the more cleansed your body will become, and the more deeply stored toxins will be able to be removed. Give your body a chance to really cleanse, you won't regret it!

    -PLEASE READ THE BOOK! So many questions are answered there, and you can save yourself a lot of time and effort trying to figure things out on your own. Plus, there is a lot of important information about properly breaking the fast.

    -YES:
    use bottled/filtered/distilled water
    use fresh lemons
    drink all of the salt water mix
    you can cut your maple syrup qty in half to induce greater weight loss if needed (i go full strength the first 3 days to get me through!)

    -DONT:
    skip steps
    alter ingredients or formulas
    add supplements not part of the cleanse
    mistake detox symptoms for "being sick"!!!

    The first 3 days are the worst (2 and 3 typically). Expect headaches, nausea, and flu-like symptoms. The first load of toxins to go are those readily accessible in your digestive tract. As these loosen and flush out, you will feel the effects! Caffeine withdrawal also hurts! As the detox progresses, it's not over! As your body uses up stored fat, stored toxins are also released into the system creating periods of detox symptoms. Landmark days tend to be 5, 7, 10, and then intermittent periods throughout the rest of a lengthy cleanse. Don't give up and mistake these cleansing waves as "My body is telling me to stop" or "The detox is making me sick"! Your body is just getting RID of The Sick and you're going to feel it. Always drink a lot of water and take it easy. The more water you drink, the faster these symptoms will pass.

    I hope all this info helps, I am sure other MC'ers will have pearls of wisdom to share, but I thought I'd get this out there for anyone new.

    Found this on another site...about coming off the MC properly and thought I'd share:

    Here's what I have found about your bowels working normally when you get off the fast. First of all, if you start eating food and don't do the orange juice thing for two days, you will be constipated for over a week! I have made that mistake, so don't try it. Make sure to take probiotics the night before you start the juice. Once the juice enters your system, I would have tiny BM's throughout the day that were solid and easy. After two days on orange or grapefruit juice watered down by 1/3, on day 3, you can start to eat fruit in the morning. I always break it on papaya, because of the digestive enzymes in it, called papain. I stay on papaya for breakfast for the first week. For lunch you can have raw food dishes, like salads, or anything non cooked without meats, I don't eat the cooked soup in Burroughs book, that always rumbles through my system and gives me gas. I stay on raw foods, simple things, like avocados, blueberries, salad fixings, etc... I eat nuts, but I soak them over night, and put them in my dehydrator, and I make flax seed crackers and stuff like that. I love a buritto that is made from a sea weed wrap with avo, almond butter, sprouts, veggies, and ginger dressing. I love a soup called energy soup, from the raw web site. The plan is to stay raw for as long as you did the fast. If you want ideas go to raw food. com, and look for things that interest you and try them. stay away from any processed foods, canned, frozen, or packaged of any kind. Your bowels will work so well you won't even believe it. I eliminate every time I eat after the fast when I break it properly. It blows me away how well my body works after the Master Cleanser has done it's magic on me. But if you don't do it this way, you will get a big shut down, and it's awful, better not to do MC at all, than to break it wrong. Causes more trouble in the long run. It's not coming off the laxative tea that gives you the problem, it's eating too much too soon, and all the wrong things, that causes havok. Don't forget to get a vegetarian source of acidolphylus and take ten the night before you start the orange juice, and finish 100 tabs in the first two week, so you take two, morning, noon and night til the bottle is gone. Otherwise you will have a healthy bacteria imbalance in your intestines and you could get sick with bronchitus, or the flu so easily. do not eat icecream, this will give you the flu after a fast, i have eaten hagendaz coming off it and it is gauranteed to cause a major problem, believe me. Cheer up you have can your ice cream after you gently reintroduce your body to working on its own again for a few weeks. I am now on day 21 and going strong. Will check in again in a few days.

    Hello genipha,

    I am starting This Tuesday. I have already decerased my volume of food and I got all the ingredients. I have been psyching myself up for this for the past week. I am doing this cleanse in order:
    1- Cleanse, detoxify etc...
    2-Rekindle my Relationship with God
    3-Introspect on my life currently
    4-Make me work on my lack of discipline
    5-Help me start journaling and writing fiction again
    6- Develop better eating habits ( I am shooting for Pescaterian right now)

    I know that is a lot to ask from a cleanse but hopefully it will help me get the boost I need to reorganize my life.

    Finished a full 10 days the week before last. It was great! I had so much energy and I lost 10 lbs. I didn't do the laxative tea everyday so I don't think my cleansing was as effective had I did it everyday. This helped me to realize how much we woship food and glutton. It helped me to get my discipline with food back that I lost after having a baby last year. I have lost the cravings for all of the junk that I was eating before. Anyway I just want to encourage you sistas and let you know that this can work. Just stay focusex if you can get past day 3 you will be alright. Mad love

    I'm so glad that you posted this. I was going to start this weekend, but I'm on the pill and I'm not gonna risk getting pregnant. I guess I'll have to do something else, like exercise. Darn, I want this to be a kick start to my weight loss.

    Arrgghh..I feel like a big time loser, I barely made it for three days. This past week was my brothers 21st b-day (w/dinner at applebees- i had veg. alfredo), my Best friends graduation bbq(i wont talk about the things I consumed), and my final exam week (complete with stress induced crunchy snacking). I feel like a let down as another friend successfully did her fast and I see you guys are really on it. I think that I can do it (know so!) but I shouldn't have attempted to try it when I had so many social events to attend. Next week I am completely free and I will be a hermit, apparently I have a very weak will when it comes to socializing and food, the two combined is like a drug that I have a hard time quitting!

    But the few days that I was able to stick to the cleanse, I def. felt a difference in my sense of clarity..and the SW flushes..ooowee talk about flushing..my stomach was so flat and I felt so light (thats enough motivation to make me jump back on the bandwagon) it was crazy.

    Keep up the good work girls, you're my motivation!

    Do not be discouraged. The 2-4 days are the hardest and it is when most people drop out. I tried twice before and did not make it past 4 days.

    I am convinced that I have learned the key to doing this and that is to follow the book to the letter. I am now on day 12. For various reasons I have decided to keep going. Namely I felt as that if I feel this good at day 10, then imagine how I will feel if I continue. I have lost 15 lbs, my energy is thru the roof and I am not depressed. In fact I feel a euphoria! YOU MUST DO THE SALT WATER FLUSHES, SENNA TEA EVERYDAY or it JUST WONT WORK!

    You cannot stop your social life from getting in the way of this. I know that sounds real preachy and beleive me its not that I don't like to eat. I was (last week) a size 18 when I started and I LOVE TO EAT. In the past 12 days I have been to a BBQ, a catered function (with coconut encrusted shrimp!) and a few happy hours...lots a celebrations at work....I am a teacher and its the end of the year here in TX so we have had tons of end of the year parties with pizza, burritos, etc. And I havent touched any of it. Not that it didnt look good and I didnt want it but once you get past day 4 you develop a new attitude and strength and energy and I would even say pride. I do feel like my body is clean and I do not want anything to "dirty" it. I never thought like that before. I am excited about starting a plan with fruit and veggies and leguemes, sprouts etc.
    My plan is to try to stay raw for as long as possible, and then maybe veg...I would be happy if I just do pescatarian. But I will continue to incoporate the cleanse in on regular intervals.

    I would also say that I have been able to cleanse mentally during this time....of some toxic thoughts, habits and people...weight loss is great but that is the real gem.

    I have kept a video journal of my progress....and have been an avid reader and poster on mastercleanser.com...that support and watching my own growth has been a tremendous help.

    definitely check back in...I may be still on it or ready to start again!

    Hi nappi_poetri!

    I currently am still planning on starting this friday (mostly because I have a ton of lemons from last friday's attempt and I don't want them to go bad) but I Intend to still be on the cleanse when you start.

    I am also prepping for the cleanse by sliding into a veg->vegan->raw diet and will be doing oil pulling so that I can ease my detox.

    **warning-TMI coming**
    This is a SERIOUS cleanse! When I tried this last weekend I almost immediately started my period (2 1/2 weeks after my last period). My DH had a boil on his arm start seeping and reduced in size by 2/3.

    We both stopped the cleanse on Saturday evening due to his heavy detoxing and because I didn't realize the cleanse was going to reset my period. I didn't feel comfortable doing the cleanse during my period and trying to work w/cramps and no meds.

    Otherwise I'm really looking forward to doing this.

    ETA: Those results came frome being the cleanse for LESS than 24 hours. We were completely amazed at how quickly it works.

    Here is the basic premise if it is not already listed in this thread:

    Drink 6-12 10oz cups of Lemonade every day for 10 days, do a Salt Water Flush once daily, Drink Smooth Move laxative tea 1-2x a day and an occasional cup of mint tea (pure mint). Drink plenty of water.

    Lemonade Recipe (Makes One 10 oz glass)

    2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice, preferrably organic
    2 tablespoons Grade B Maple syrup, organic
    1/10 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
    8 oz Water; purified, filtered, or spring

    Salt Water Flush Recipe (to be drank 1st thing in the morning, once daily)

    2 Teaspoons Sea Salt, non-iodized
    1 quart Luke warm water

    **Stay near a bathroom- this runs right through you!**

    So your day should go like this:

    Morning:
    -Optional cup of Smooth Move Tea
    -Salt Water Flush
    -30 mins later, glass of Lemonade

    drink water and lemondae through out day

    Evening,
    -last glass of Lemonade around 8pm
    -Just before bed, Cup of Sooth Move Tea

    Do this for aminimum of 10 days. drink something when you feel hungry.

    That's cool. You can still probably start on Friday night, because all you will do on the first night is drink the Smooth Move Tea.

    Saturday morning have another tea, do the Salt Water Flush, make/drink some lemonade and you're off and running! (no pun intended)

    BLL - I'm not looking to do any specific plan. Once I start the MC in July, I'm going to go the minimum of 10 days and then extend past that until I feel cleansed completely and then stop. I've done the MC before the 8 days the first time and 10 days the second so I'm confident of going at least 15 days this time (this is my unwritten goal).

    Genipha - I watched your videos on YouTube. They were great. Congrats on completing the cleanse.

    I too will begin July 1. Currently my only flesh foods are fish/eggs/Lactaid fat-free milk, otherwise prior to last couple of years, have been only vegetarian most of adult life. I do a herb cleanse 2x a year, finished a 3-month Colonex end of April, also many years ago did two 21-days, water-only fasts, so am looking forward to this cleanse and expect to be successful.

    Will leave country for vacation 4 days after I finish, so will have time to break properly with food I control, i.e., I will eat organic/raw, then raw while away for at least the first several days, however, I'll not expect that foreign country vegetables/fruits will be organic. I always take probotics.

    Is anyone still Master Cleansing? I want to start on Tuesday. I know, I know, I should probably start today, but I won't be able to keep it up. My birthday is Sunday and I have plans (that involve eating) all weekend long. I may even start Monday, who knows.

    Anyway, I've done this cleanse before and I love it. The last time, I did it for only 8 days and could have gone longer, but we had a catered event at work...lol. Anyway, when I start, nothing is going to get in my way!

    I keep breaking y'all. I can't make it past the first day. I think I might be a food addict or something. All I can think about is food and constat craving the whole time. I've tried it three times so far. Any advice? I really want to do this... I'm gonna keep trying.

    the last few times i tried i've had the same problem - having a hard time getting pass the first day or so.

    i actually started the MC yesterday and ended up breaking because i couldn't resist a fresh fruit salad. then i was mad that i even took it there. today i'm craving some of everything!!!! i even told myself that i would just go ahead and start over again "for real-for real" on thursday, but i had to check myself. i'm craving things that are the cause of me feeling icky and in need of a cleanse in the first place. i had to remind myself of why i'm doing the cleanse and what benefits i'm expecting. whenever i've done the cleanse and i've completely properly, i've always been estatic and looked and felt great so i'm trying to keep my mind focused on the end result. day one usually is the worse day for me...if i can do one day i can do another. i just have to focus.

    try not to think about it in days. instead just take it one glass of lemonade at a time.

    I would like to cleanse, but I really want to read about it first. I tried going to a book store but was very overwhelmed by my options. Can anyone suggest an informative book? I mean it should be self-explanatory....but I like to read before I make a change...
