  • Knots On My Hair Ends!

    Hi everyone,

I've had my fro since May '06, and I'm noticing a serious annoyance of knots forming along my hair ends. Am I using the wrong comb? Is it my conditioner (Parnevu T-tree leave in)?

If anyone knows how to avoid them I'd be grateful for some tips.

Knots on the end of the hair is normal. Since our hair is naturally curly, the ends have a tendency to curl up on themselves and make knots. Are you tying up your hair at night or sleeping with a satin pillowcase? If not, you might want to try that because the friction from the pillow could be the cause of so many knots.

    ...

    Hi JustAfrica,

as a matter of fact, I've been tying my scarf over my pillowcase, because I don't like the feel of having it around my head.

Thanks for reassuring me, I was under the impression that I was maybe doing something wrong with my hair.

    All the best

    Hi,
Thanks for posting this I was having the same probelm after doing the BC a few weeks ago and didn't know what was going on. I didn't know our hair does this normally. I tie it up most of the time but sometimes that headscarf gets annoying and well I start to slack in tying my hair up at night. Hopefully, I'll get it together.

I have been nappy for a while now and have a bit of length on my hands, but usually my hair starts to get the little knots when it's time for a trim.

Why don't you try tying the scarf around the pillow? That way it's already there when you go to sleep. It works fine for me, hopefully it will work for you too.
