It just depends on your hair and also I think if it's thin or thick. My hair is really dense and thick and my twists are always reaching up to the sky . People ask how do I make them do it but they just do it on their own.

I'm sure your twists look good as is. There are so many different heads of hair on this site and everyones hair looks great in its own unique way. Enjoy forum -- Tryce

I guess you will have to resort to some styling product (like garnier fructis gum putty) that people use to create spikes.

I agree. Use products like Suave's Pomade, Bed Head etc. My hair stays with no products. Its reaction is to stick up. I wish I had your problem :P

do you twist wet or dry. I'm guessing that if the hair is wet and shrunken the twists would coil up into themselves.

This is funny I try to make my twists hang down and you want yours to stick up. My hair is really dense(thick) and no matter how much gel I use they do what they want. My hair is short and shrinks up a lot..... they stick up on there own.

its really thick, but i'm thinking it might be too long to stick up? i twist them dry or i retwist them after i wash them (i keep them in when i wash my hair), but by the time one side is finished, the rest is dry.
