  • Detangling issues? Try AVJ!

Aloe Vera Juice. I buy the big bottles of the Whole Foods brand or Lily of the desert and have the same results(refigerate after opening).

Pour into a spray bottle and spray your entire head(no need to be soaking wet) gently finger detangle or use your favorite detangling tool(denman, tangle teezer or wide tooth comb).

I hope this helps someone because it has really helped me.

You think it would work if I mixed fresh aloe with a little water? Just wondering if this could be a quick fix until I'm able to purchace a bottle of AVJ.

I've tried to use Fruit of the Earth AV gel as a hair gel (many years ago) but found it drying . I've never tried it for detangling. Maybe I need to give it another go for detangling this time. Coinkydink I have a bottle sitting in front of me right know from the last time I burnt myself cooking.

I also have edible AV juice in the fridge that I drink and use on my hair mixed with other stuff....haven't tried it straight out of the bottle for hair in years.
mmmm..........gotta try this. Thanks for the tip and video ladies.

I finger detangled my hair with avj and a bit of Oyin J & B last weekend and loved it. It provides the slip I need without the gunkiness that conditioner detangling provide. I've been spritzing this combo on my twists all week. My dh remarked that my hair is 'squishy' not dry. The humidity is the reason, I think. Thanks again, jaimuziq for the tip!

Aloe vera juice is the business. Doesn't matter WHAT product I'm using; gotta have my AVJ.

does it matter if its the juice or the gel- do you getter better results from the juice or the gel

For me, I get better results from the juice. There's no comparison actually. The gel seems to dry my hair out while the juice is all moisture for me.

Really? Even when you're using the same brand of gel and juice? Hmmm. I was thinking of using the gel to get a bit more hold on my twists.

This sooo works! I dilute AVJ with water and spray it on my hair and scalp. It cleared up a 3yr+ dandruff problem i've been having.

    ^^argh no edit button

I wanted to add that AVJ seems to close my perpetually open hair cuticles a help control my hair's porosity. Now if it would just wash these dishes in the sink.............
