I was doing this for a while. I got lazy though, now I deep con. 2-3 times a weeks. This and the baggie method have helped my split ends a lot.

Are you using heat to do it?

I only DC once a week using heat. (last week I did it twice since I used semi-permanent color in my hair)

I only do a deep treatment once a week. I co-wash/no-poo on a daily basis. I think thats enough. I dont want to over condition my hair

As a part of my regimen, whenever I cond. wash I deep condition...
On a good hair day, at night I cond. wash, do kenra moisturizing conditioner under plastic cap [no heat] sleep with it on under my satin scarf overnight, rinse, add pm the conditioner, spray htwo and go.

I don't worry about buildup since I am 'cone free now...but every 2 weeks or 4 weeks I will use a clarifying shampoo...

I don't know what it feels like, but your hair will snap off easily.

    ...

I'm glad I found this old thread!

My hair has been really dry lately and has been breaking off really bad...I've already lost almost an inch which is a lot for my little fro.

My hair always feels so nice after a deep condition but the effect only lasts for 2-3 days. Therefore, I'm going to try deep conditioning my hair twice a week.

I think I will be using 2 parts shea butter, 2 parts conditioner, 1 part aloe vera gel, 1 part jojoba oil and 10 drops of rosemary EO. I let this sit on my head for an hour (covered with a cap--no heat)...feels great when I rinse it out.

    Anyhoo...

Any of you ladies deep conditioning your hair more than once a week? If so, what are you using and what are your methods?

If you don't deep condition more than once a week, I'd still like to hear from you as well. How often do you DC, what do you use and what are your methods?

Yup I deep condition my hair every single day. Despite the fact that folks have been saying slow down, but my hair feels great and it loves water and when I drink plenty of it.

my mama use to always say: too much of a good thing is good for nothing

you can over condition your hair and that will cause your hair to have too much elasticity and that causes breakage....

I used to deep condition 5 times a week, now I'm down to twice a week. I shampoo, put the conditioner on and a plastic cap and sleep or take a nap, then rinse. My hair hasn't suffered and I'll probably keep doing it until my hair gets to long to keep up the regime.

I've been deep conditioning every other week with warmed olive oil and honey and let it sit for an hour or so. I may add rosemary oil to it. After I rinse out this mixture, I put conditioner in my hair and detangle.

Almost each time I wash my hair I DC. Because i'm newly nappy & sporting a TWA I take a lot of liberties with my hair. I'm trying to A. Optimize this AMAZING texture that i've found B. See just how much is TOO MUCH for my hair. So far so good!

I experiment with different oils & natural products in my conditioning treatments. It's hard not too with all the FABULOUS advice and homemade recipes from the ladies here on forum!

I wash and deep condition my hair every three days according to the regimen that Cathy Howse recommends in her book. I us Fantasia IC Protein Reconstructor. My hair loves it! I notice that I don't have as much breakage when I deep condition with a conditioner that contains protein.

Hello ladies! I started off co-washing my hair daily, but I think that wetting my hair daily just isn't for me. It wasn't soft enough, but then again, I haven't found a good moisturizer for my hair(still waiting on my Oyin and QB samples). So since I don't have a good moisturizer, I just co-wash every 2-3 days, but deep condition at least 2x a week. I like deep conditioning because my hair feel healthy and it is growing good!! Right now to deep condition I use either qp elasta intensive fortifying conditioner or MillCreek Jojoba conditioner. Sometimes I use heat with the QP elasta, but mostly I just sit with a baggy over my head for about an hour. My hair feels great afterwards

I don't but I have a feeling that deep conditioning everyday would work against my hair. But I moisturize everyday and do the baggy method since then I don't suffer from dryness issues.

Daily deep condition, since weekdays I saturate hair with conditioner (rotating Aubrey Organics Island, Avalon Organic's Awapuhi Mango or Boitin B-Complex Thickening conditioners) then workout 40-60 minutes; each weekend day, I leave on Aubrey Organics GPB and so-called neutral henna for at least 30 minutes. Daily use a leave-in and pure aloe vera gel--every is silicone-free. My hair is always soft and conditioned.

I'm going to try deep conditioning every 2 days starting today. I've noticed recently that my hair is super-soft after I deep condition with ORS Hair Mayonnaise and my heating cap, and I have VERY little breakage or shedding. However, when I only deep condition 1-2 times a week, I notice increased breakage and shedding, and my hair feels crazy-thirsty and brittle, and looks dull. So, for the next few weeks, I'm going to shampoo with Qhemet Biologics Cleansing Tea or Nexxus Phyto Organics Theratin shampoo, then deep condition with either ORS Hair Mayonnaise, Nexxus Phyto Organics Humectin conditioner, or Nexxus Phyto Organics Enphuse reconstructor. I'll shampoo, deep condition with heat for 20 minutes, apply Wild Growth Hair Oil to my hair and scalp, and put in braids w/o extensions, two-strand twists, or coils.

Guess I can call this my "Extreme Mollyp Conditioning and Protective Stying Challenge"! I'll post pics as I go along, if anyone's interested...

Glad to see I'm not the only one deep conditioning more than once a week. Twice a week is great for me. I know now more than ever, what works for everyone else may not work for me. I need to find regimen that works for me and not Person A or B. And twice a week is great for me. Thats my story and I'm stickin' to it.
