  • Customer Service Nightmares

It never ceases to amaze me how bad service is at some of these places. If I wasn't getting paid I wouldn't go to some of these places at all. Do you have a customer service nightmare?

I went to Walgreen's one night and every isle I went to, they would announce "security scan isle...." :Angry_boese008: I was tooo pissed. and I asked to speak with the manager who was about 19 and altogether stupid. I ended up filing a BBB complaint and they sent me an apology about the misunderstanding along with a $50 store card.

My hubster and I went to IHOP and while we were eating the busser started to clean the table next to ours. He put their dirty dishes right at the end of our table in the empty place right to my husband (it was a table for 4 but it was just us 2) :Angry_boese008:

(This one didn't happen to me but I saw it) I was shopping at Target and this woman asked the saleslady (about 17 or 1 if they had the shirt in her size. The salesperson said, I kid you not, "we don't have really big sizes here but you should try Lane Bryant" The woman started cursing and threw her cart stuff on the floor and stormed out. I tried to be :Angry_boese008: but I was more like because I couldn't believe what she said.

OK, what's your customer service nightmare??

Right now I have a horrible customer service nightmare, T-Mobile is charging me over $1200 for a phone bill, the thing is I did not run up it bill. The horror start when I got a family plan and they rep messed up the Sim registration , I called several times for it to be fixed and it never was. I did not have the $250 to cancell the # so the phone just collects dust , it cannot make or receive calls. Fast foward I get this huge bill , look and somehow there are over $1200 in charges under the second phone ( the one that does not work ) I put in two claims they denied both :Angry_boese008: so now i'm going to take it to the better business bureau.

    Time Warner Cable. :Angry_boese008:

They've been messing with me for three months. They keep telling me that I owe money that I don't owe. I think I've gotten everything cleared with customer service, and then three weeks late they call again talking about how they want their money, and customer service claims they don't have any record of earlier phone calls. :Angry_boese008:

It's probably my fault. Last September, a $200 credit magically appeared on my bill, and when I tried to explain to them that it wasn't mine, they kept saying it was an overpayment from an old account. I've never overpaid anything in my life, but if who am I to argue?

They've probably finally just realized their mistake and are now making ish up trying to get it back.

Lemme second that Time Warner... <_<

They made a mess of my account when I decided to downgrade to basic cable and roadrunner lite. Two weeks after asking, I finally had to go to the place itself and basically tell them that I wasn't paying for any charges on my account that accrued since I asked them to downgrade my service.

That got straightened out, but my due date is still a mess. I asked them to change my due date to the 4th of the month because I pay all my bills around the 1st. They had the nerve to charge me late fees for their errors! Even after all of that was removed, they still have the nerve to send me my bill a WEEK before it's due!

What kind of company that wants its money sends bills to arrive a week before the due date? And a local company at that!

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh yeah, and one time when I was at an IHOP in Birmingham, our waitress was a total mess. I'm talking unkept....snotty nose, bubble of drool in the corner of her mouth, crusty eyes.

*She let me order the popcorn shrimp without telling me that they were out of cocktail sauce, and had the nerve to ask me if I wanted marinara sauce!

*She put sour cream all in my baked potato and I HATE sour cream...and you're supposed to put that stuff on the side anyway!

*When I saw that she forgot my cheese grits, she brings me a steaming pile of "grits" with a piece of cheese slapped on top and so much butter that it was dripping on the table.

*She brings my salad with brown lettuce.

*She also forgot parts of my friends' meals and attempted to overcharge my friend's cousin for his food.

I call the manager over and asked him what he would say to his wife or mother if they served him those grits.

She was, hands down, the worst waitress I have EVER had. Not only did I not pay for my food, I had her JOB that night.

Man, what is it about TWC? I put my bill in the mail late but I did mail it. I got a call from the guy saying he was going to disconnect my cable the next morning, and when I told him the payment was probably in the mail and should be there by the next day he said to just call customer service and they will put a stop order, that way he would know not to come by. So I called customer service and they said they didn't see my account number and that I was sent to collections. I called collections and was told they couldn't do a stop order. Only customer service could. This was when I realized that TWC closes at 5:00. My cable got cut off. The next day I called collections and this little Buffy-type heffa got a â˜tude with me. Told me I didn't pay my bill because they don't have a record of it and that I just needed to go ahead and pay on the phone using my debit or credit card, plus the disconnect/reconnect fees. I got hot and had to ask her how long has she been working and that I need to talk to her manager or someone else who knows what they are talking about. When I did get the manager, she said Buffy hadn't been there long, but long enough to know the routine, and that everything she told me was wrong, that all I had to do was give them a check number and they would note it and my cable should not have been cut off. In the end my cable was cut back on and I didn't have to pay any reconnect fees, and hopefully Buffy was looking for another job.

    BellSouth....

My phone lines aren't working at all....I called before 9a YESTERDAY...I didn't even get a call to advise me of the status of the lines...I couldn't even get my voicemail.

I called back this morning; the tech noted that he couldn't contact me, although, I gave them my celly and kept it on my body instead of in my purse at work yesterday. All they can tell me is that it will be fixed by freaking 6p today....In the meantime, I'm stuck at home today because I want to make sure that I am in a good area for cell phone reception to get this call from them. Also, DH worked 3rd shift last night and I don't want him to have to be bothered wit' folk knocking on the door.

This is probably the same tech who was sent out to connect the line when we moved in June who was outside of our apartment at 10a, but left to go to the store to get some "libations" before he turned our line on...

I have TWC, and have had no problems yet...Hopefully I won't, cause if my phone aint right today, I'm getting digital phone tomorrow!

AT&T - no question!Don't you know they charged me for...

That happened to me a few years ago!!!!!!! I called them and told them that I was recording our conversation (heck, they record conversations ALL THE TIME) and the customer service rep had the nerve to start interrogating me on what kind of recording device I had and trying to make ME feel bad about being angry, as if I didn't have the right to be angry about a $500 long distance bill!!!!!! I went off. Never using them again. I don't even like using the AT&T translator in the hospital!

    Southwestern Bell.

I can't stand them. When we moved to our new place none of the phone lines were working. They came out and fixed them, but then we couldn't dial out (not even the local area code), although we could recieve calls. When I called them they kept saying that they were showing that the phone line worked. DUH!!! But, what good does it do if I can't make phone calls??? Finally, after about a week of calling my dh got through to one of the high-level techs fixed the problem and told him that none of the lower-level techs knew what the heck they were doing (yet, those are the ones that you HAVE to talk to first).

They were also incahoots with AT&T with the other problem in the last post.

    IHOP!

I love IHOP. I really do, but this one particular IHOP was just off da dam chain. So many people complained about this place that they are now out of business.

So my best friend and I are new in town and hopped online to find a nearby IHOP. We were in luck! There was an IHOP within 2 miles.

We get there and patiently wait for 15 minutes for Ms. Hoochie to finish getting her mack on with the cooks in the back. No problem. My friend and I were in a good mood that day. So what if she looked right at us when we walked in. She doesn't HAVE to acknowledge our presence right away, right? <_< She was also nice enough to tell us that there was an hour wait because they had a large party in house. I looked to my left. Looked to my right. Looked 'round the corner, and only saw one other party in the entire restaurant. (That should have been a clue.) I would hardly classify those 5 people as a large party.

I kindly pointed out an empty table and asked if we could sit there. Ms. Hoochie, complete with 'tude, agreed to let us sit there. As I was walking to the table, I caught a glimpse of 3 waitresses sitting at a back table chatting and doing absolutely nothing. I was like. _eek13:

So we decided what we wanted to eat and waited at least an hour before anyone even came to the table to take our order. By then I was cussin' and fussin' for real. I was like WTF is the problem, here? To make matters worse, we waited another hour for our food, which was ALL wrong, by the way. We decided to just eat it and get the heck out of there.

So I start eating and noticed that my bacon is missing. Now back then, that was grounds for murder. DON'T forget my bacon...lol. I brought this to the waitresses attention. She said...and I quote "I know I brought that damn bacon out here!" We were like No this heffa didn't just yell at us. So I yelled back. "There WAS no bacon!" So she starts moving plates around on our table, picking things up looking for bacon. I was like this hoochie is on crack. I know she doesn't think I'm in here trying to steal bacon! When she didn't find the bacon, she yells to the cook (who is way back in the kitchen) that he forgot to cook the bacon. He yelled back that he cooked the "f*ckin" bacon and that I must have already eaten it. She went back into the kitchen and proceeded to argue (loud as hell) with the cook.

Right then we knew it was time. We broke the hell out like we had the chicken pox.

Unfamiliar territory or not, we FOUNT us somewhere else to eat!

We bought tickets online and trust, my credit card was charged! Seemed to me like that meant I had purchased a seat on that exact flight. Well these summamasoandso's had the nerve to tell us that we were put on standby cuz we didn't choose a seat at the time of online purchase. da hayl??? Usually, they just assign a seat if u don't choose a particular number don't they?? Well that flight was overbooked and many folk had to take the next morning flight (nevermind the fact that we were supposed to attend an important function the next day---guess weddings don't really count)

    Dell

I am still waiting for the powercord over 3 weeks later- i hate them!

Why don't ya'll have store somewhere anywhere? Why can't I walk in somewhere and buy my cord? Why is the call ALWAYS routed to people who have their heads up their behinds?

Why did they leave a message on my phone enquiring about wether I had received my package and when I called to see what was up they not only had not shipped the cord, they realised they were out of stock. Just what I need when I am writing my darn thesis!

    AOL :Angry_boese008: :Angry_boese008: :Angry_boese008:

I have yet to call AOL and speak to someone that has english as a first language. I don't want to have to repeat myself over and over to tell them my service is intermittent or I want to cancel. And when you do talk to someone they send you around in circles--transferring you here and there, everywhere except where you need to be . I am SOOOOOOO glad I no longer have to deal with them.
I have TWC now and I haven't had any issues whatsoever just yet except intermittent service---everytime I call they claim they are working in the area but I still pitch a fit---I have digital phone so if I lose my cable and roadrunner I lose my phone service too and that pisses me off. I would just get a residential line but I HATE Bellsouth almost as much as AOL. They kept adding all these charges to my DSL line that I knew shouldn't be there---I used to work for them so I know the charges and all that. So I kicked them to the curb and they are still trying to bill me for those charges. Excel also wrongfully charged me---they slammed my line. They changed my long distance without my express permission and next thing I know instead of my unlimited ld that I had I'm paying 5 cents a minute and had a bill well over $200 in a 13 day time span---everyone I talk to doesn't live here in Columbia. I got that straightened out but I would never use their service again---one of their representatives HUNG UP ON ME!!! And yes I did turn that ho in for gross abuse. And ONE more. SUNCOM! I had their service for two years with no problems. Then all of a sudden I get a bill for $300---a big stretch from my usual $65. I call them pitching a fit and it was determined that for whatever reason even though my phone said free it was charging me as though I was in an out of zone area. They told me to bring my phone into a local store and have them look it over and all that. They said they had the problem fixed and discard the bill. The next bill comes and it is over $1200!! Now you know I pitched a fit then and tehy were like "you were out of area" and all that. I refused to pay and canceled my service. I payed them $265 and called it a day. They are still billing me---they knocked the bill down to about $600 but I'm not paying that mess and have already wrote to deny the whole bill and my reasonings. <_< <_< Ok that's my rant.

    Dell
Don't get me started on this company. Dell is satan. I've told this story before but it's worth repeating. Our brand new top of the line Dell just stopped working about 90 days after we got it. We purchased an extended service contract, and got on the phone with them right away. The Dell cust. service rep you see on the tv ad is a farce. Dell customer service is located in New DELLi and don't nobody speaky no good English (ok they're really in the Phillipines). Anyway, this joker had me taking apart the computer for about 3 hours, then I refused to do anymore-that's what the contract was for. This fool argued with me that if I just did a little bit more work-excuse me, I don''t work for Dell and that's what the extended contract was for. He begrudgingly sent out a service person who said it was put together wrong from the factory. I called Dell back, they said the service guy was mistaken and snet another guy out. We saw a total of 4 different repair people, and it wasn't fixed. Dell didn't seem to care about our computer not working. I found business addresses for Dell and ended up filing a BBB complaint on Dell and then we sent a certified registered letter to Michael Dell (I'm sure he personally didn't see it but what the hay) About 6 weeks after we first contacted them, someone from corporate called and got the ball rolling on our refund.

    Dude, don't do Dell _headshake:

    A O L!!! :Angry_boese008: :Angry_boese008:
when i got my gateway pc, AOL service came free for about a year. well, very shortly after starting up these free services, i uninstalled AOL from my pc because 1) i wasn't using AOL 2) i suspected that some of it's componants were messing up my memory. i must have been right because the after i uninstalled it, several problems were solved. so, i got in touch with AOL to let them know that i wasn't using the service anymore..free or otherwise, and would they please unregister me or whatever they had to do. fine. they claimed it was done, gave me a confirmation number and the whole nine.
forward wind about a year and a half. i realize that after my 12 months of free service, i had been being billed by AOL for monthly services. no bills, so receipts, no nothing. they were just just billing my cc for about 27 bucks a month. this is what i get for shabby record keeping. by this time, of course i have no idea where the cancellation confirmation number is <_< so it's basically my word against theirs that i had cancelled services at all. ok..i'm willing to take responsiblity for this. after all, i should have checked my statements more thoroughly. ok. first off, the customer service guy was so nasty and unprofessional with me it was unbelievable. i was in shock basically at how flippant he was with me. \"it's not our responsiblity to handle your business for you...how could you miss over six months of being billed for a service you "claim" you're not getting...like oh yeah...i'm using your chicken shyt service but don't wanna pay
i didn't press very hard for a refund (they did eventually send me $100) but mostly, i just wanted the billing to stop...and of course, it didn't. not right away. i had to call back twice...only to be forwarded to India!! to speak to CS reps who were polite, at least as far as i could tell since i could only decipher about 40% of what they were saying. _eek13:

    i hate AOL!
