  • Bad Hair Days?!?

Before anybody gets the wrong idea, I don't mean texture-wise. People are sensitive these days. I mean, having a wonderful hair day on Monday and Tuesday comes and you wonder are you the same person.

I'm a newbie. I'm trying different products and adjusting amounts that I use. I try to keep track of how much is too much (in my hand before applying) and how much is not enough. It seemed easier to get away with when my hair was freshly chopped, but now that it's a little longer, just a drop of too much leave in conditioner will leave my hair looking ashy!

Is it just my niave mind or did other people think when they went natural, that you would never have bad hair days?

Let us share a light hearted story!

my hair is only 4 inches, but i'm hoping that once my hair gets past 6 inches i won't have any more bad hair days. lol. i mean, if you do have a bad hair day with that length, you could just put it in a puff, bun, or 2 french braids, or simple style and go.

Very true BamaFro... Being natural with a bad hair day is easy to correct. Being relaxed with a bad hair day, could not be fixed so easily.

I guess it isn't bad, but a down day maybe?

I'm hoping for the same thing. I guess I have about 5 inches. I'm coming out of that frustrating in-between stage. I just realized over the weekend that I can do 12 big twists for a twist-knot set (from Pamela Ferrell's book). I usually wear twists and the resulting twist-out. When I do that I'm good for like three weeks with no bad hair day. It's on those days when I try to wear it out that I don't know what I'm gonna get. Style wise I don't have really bad hair days -- a scarf or headband fixes just about anything. It's the days when my hair feels dry that makes me crazy. It will feel soft one day and then a day or two later I'm feeling like brillo head. I feel like once I figure out what products and how much to use I'll be good.

lately, i've been having bad hair days b/c i've started working pretty early in the morning and i'm not the type of person to get up an hour earlier just to do hair and make up. i'm a minimalist to my heart. so when i get up and my hair is matted and i have 30 mins to get to work, but it's cold and i don't want to wet my hair, i don't have many choices. my hair is maybe 3 inches and i've already experienced some breakage from hairbands and such. it's enough to drive you batty. so yes, i've had some bad hair days.

I may have "bad hair mornings" but not entire days, a lil water and a dab of oil revives my hair with the quickness!

I too thought they would dissapear...lol, but i have learned that these "down" days, arent that bad, i can just throw on a scarf or a hat, and be on my merry way!
