Okay...seethroughu...i feel ur pain all 2 well. I have had some kind of acne since 13...i am 25 with a face that looks like i was in an accident. I had no confidence as a kid..didn't help that i went to a mostly white school. And having to see my friends (white) with skin so bright..and what used to hurt was that they could have a pimple and the next day be completely clear.
I didn't get it..howcome i would have a pimple and later have a scar to remind me in the months to come that i had a pimple there. Now one pimple is okay, but what do u do when u have a breakout. u hid under foundations, that proberbly makes it worse, but i was not confident to leave the house without it. Sleepovers were hell, i wasn,t going to wash my face and reveal whet was under. okay as i have grown up, i understand all about melanin (sp?), so i know why i scar, however my quest is how to stop the scaring. Now the problem is I live in holland (the netherlands) so dermatologist fro black skin are few and what makes it worse, i went and the doctor was white. Now i am not saying that he can't help me, but he crushed my spirt and my heart when he said " THE SCARING WOULD NEVA GO BECAUSE IT IS JUST LIKE A TATOO AND WILL STAY ON OR HARDLY FADE".

Now i started crying in front of him, because he was my last hope. I tried not to give up hope. I am always behind the computer looking for product names. Main problem, i can't get most of the things that are stated. i can't even find neutragena over here. i had a break out 4months ago, but i drew a link to the increased amount of coffee i was taking in conjunction with a new job. I stopped and the breakout did too. But again...the scars...all over my cheek, forehead and chin (basically everwhere), i decided to try and use the black opal fade craem and it burnt my face. My face is now, one shade darker than the rest of my face. If i don't have to go out, i don't. (i try to save on the foundation)...relationships are kinda hopeless...i neva sleep over and i almost flip when guys stroke my face (i don't no one messing up my foundation haha) so i am asking begging, please anyone know what i can do.

my aim....rely less on foundation this summer.
    i know this was long...sorry.
    but i had 2 share....so seethroughu u r not alone.

i am loking for any good products...names then maybe i can order it.
    thank you

I use clean and clear acne wash(the face wash in the purple bottle that squirts out like foam) you can get it from any drug store or places like walmart (not sure what you have in Holland) but it is easily accessiable.

Find a good Super B Complex vitamin...because my skin was in such bad condition for a while I would take two (one before bedtime and one the next day during lunch). The B Complex helps your skin to heal.

To exfoliate I use dead sea salt once or twice a week (you can find the kind in small crystal form like table salt from any health food store).

To help gradually fade the blemishes and deter future breakouts I use Ambi fade cream for sensitive skin that has sunscreen in it (a pearl sized amont) with a smaller dot of Clean and Clear acne cream. Apply the acne cream before the Ambi...just lightly rub it in, if you rub too hard then the acne cream and the Ambi together will be hard to absorb into the skin.

To even out my skin tone a little bit, I use Dermalogica foundation...it is really light like a tinted sun screen...basically that is all it is. I also us a Mac translucent blot powder...really doesn't have a color to it like regular powder.

It takes some time to see results but please understand that I feel your pain. Blemished skin is soooo unfair...but life goes on.

Hope you find a solution that brings you beautiful results.

    peace

    Hi Jade,

I understand exactly how you feel. I have been taking vitamin B for about 2 months now and I can really see a difference in my skin. I also rub pure cocoa butter on the spots (mostly on my back). All of them haven't completely faded, but they are lighter....which means they will fade soon.
Also, I make sure to eat plenty of green veggies and drink lots of water, in additon to a morning sprint.

    Holland? Is is exciting/fun?

i suggest finding a topical ointment containing DMAE and alpha lipoic acid. i read a book by Dr. Perricone that says when combined, these two ingredients are very good for acne in general as well as scarring. here's what he says:
"DMAE's powerful anti-inflammatory activity, in addition to its superior abilities as a penetration enhancer, results in the reduction of visible acne inflammation within 24 to 48 hours. When used in combination with alpha lipoic acid, DMAE enhances the scar prevention and treatment aspects of alpha lipoic acid."
He actually has some topical creams available on his website http://www.nvperriconemd.com that contain these ingredients.

    Good luck!

I tried Proactive for about 8 months..and while it did help to curb outbreaks, it did absolutely nothing for scarring. But everyone's skin is different. I find better results with natural ingredients.

Any decent cosmetic dermatologist should know about glycolic peels.

All of the above suggestions are valid ones but I would also try to get information on products with glycolic acid. MD Forte is the one I'm currently using.

Thanks 4 all the idea's..i already got the vitamin b and taking more water. So i will be patient (that is what i am lacking) and thanks again.

p.s Holland is cool, apart from london, this would be my ideal place to live. I don't live in Amsterdam, where there is the most to do, but holland is like 5 hours by train from north to south. it is quite a small country.
