Good for you....I look forward to seeing pics.

I understand what you mean about long hair...I've had this thought so many times whilst thinking about locing and as a newbie. But as I'm far from being fully loced or having long hair I'll worry about it when it happens...

I really can't say I don't understand. I remember a few years ago - at the beginning of my "almost" 3 year journey (or has it been longer... dang...) I couldn't even put my heart around someone who didn't want locs forever and a day. I'm embarrassed now to even think about how I felt about those who chopped - but after 3 years - and many experiences later I can honestly say ... I really DO understand. It makes sense. Lint, 2-3-4 headed dragons - unhealthy (i think) tips - blah blah blah - makes me not only THINK about taking out my locs or cutting them - it makes me DREAM about loose hair, too. Being that I just started another semester of school - I can't think of having the time to do either one - so they stay. For now. But it's not about me - or at least it's not suppose to be about me - it's all about you. I completely understand. I hope that you've gotten some peace during the process - and that you enjoy your new relationship with your new hair - and that most of all ... your energy can now be refocused into your educational goals....

    Peace.... -karimarie.

Thanks everyone. As soon as I can find the USB cable that hooks my ancient digital camera to my computer, I'll post some pics. I don't recall if I kept the Soft Spikes pics but if I did, I'll post them.

    What'd I miss? What'd I miss?

***goes back to read last 2 pages***

Oh, so you did pick them out! I understand how you felt, I was really torn about taking mine down too. Matter of fact, I'm still taking these puppies down. I felt the same way you do about long straight-looking hair, I was just starting to get bored and I realized (belatedly) they were only going to get longer. I wanted a change, so it was time.

I'm so excited for you! Can't wait to see pics.

First of all, congratulations on your graduation and thesis.

*Sigh* I've always envied your locks! I have released my locks in the past and thoroughly enjoyed the huge fro that I was left with. Now locked again, I probably will cut my hair if I feel the need to release.

I have enjoyed viewing your journey and wish you continued success with your endeavors!
